Chris Messina is a gifted behavioral therapist— I know that after her 6 years of investment with a Horizon Christian Elementary student/family. Because she was hired by one of our families, we have interacted dozens of times over the last six years. Her manner is professional and her charm is disarming—-her intellect is apparent and her practicality grounds her—her concern for individuals is empathic and her courage to be straightforward is inspiring—her tenacity is evident and her advising is winsome. I’ve observed Chris one on one, in a small group with tense parent partners, with educators, and leading a Professional Development workshop with a large group of teachers. Our staff feels indebted for her clarion call to track behavior data and to navigate those tough conversations with parents. In short, I’ve seen her rise like cream in every scenario.
